Seattle Blues

The Seattle Blues, like Shamrocks FC, have been playing soccer in Seattle GSSL for many years. The Seattle Blues team today is made up mostly of Queen Anne Hill childhood friends who were raised in the Steve Moriarty’s school of soccer, which had its origin in the dust of the Queen Anne bowl. Joining them on the team are a few a few native and non-native Seattleites whom Steve took under his wing and found them a home.

The Seattle Blues and Shamrock FC have strong bonds and good sporting rivalries that go deep due to player tradings which took place over the years. In 2003, Shamrock players and their families joined up with some Seattle Blues families to visit Ireland and play a couple games of soccer. The combined team represented Seattle well. It was a memorable trip and one that has cemented the bonds between these two great teams.

The Seattle Blues support the Shamrocks in this charitable golfing event and dedicate the #17 tee box to the memory of Steve Moriarty, their Coach of Coaches, who died in 2009 after a brave battle with cancer. Please join them in raising a glass in his honor.
